Lights out at Monaco Casino initiated by HSH Prince Albert II
Société des Bain de Mer joins Alliance pour la planète initiative. The SBM (Société des Bain de Mer) in Monaco joined the Alliance pour la planète initiative last February 1st and turned out all the lights in its establishments for five minutes last night. Casino Square where the Hôtel de Paris, Casino and Café de Paris are located became eerily quiet and sombre from 7.55pm to 8pm. HSH Prince Albert II was behind the decision to join the campaign which aimed to highlight the perils of global warming and over consumption. Lights on the Rock and in the palace also went out. Elsewhere, the French electrical distribution company, RTE (Réseau de transport de l’électricité) reported a drop of 1 per cent in demand nationwide.
