Environment : the FIPOL meetings in Monaco
FIPOL means “International Indemnity Funds for the Damages caused by the hydrocarbones Pollution” ; Three intergovernmental organizations composed it: the Funds of 1971 (regarding the civil liability), the Funds of 1992 (which counts 99 members) and the complementary Funds (which counts 20 members). FIPOL scheduled to organize its meetings in Monaco from March 11 to 14. The purpose od the said organization was set up to compensate the victims of the hydrocarbon.Originally, it was created in the 70s because of the oil slick caused by the Torrey Canyon in the open sea of England. Monaco is a member of its originally first Funds dated 1971. FIPOL is financed by the subsidies paid by each member which is delivered with more than 150.000 tonnes of hydrocarbones per year and by maritime way. Of course, each member victim of a hydrocarbon damage is able itself to require an indemnity.
