Sudan/Chad: Monaco keen to strengthen ties with UNHCR

 Monaco’s Prince Albert II has said he is very interested in developing stronger political and humanitarian ties between his small, but wealthy principality and the UN refugee agency. He also announced that Monaco, a constitutional monarchy, would be donating 100,000 euros towards UNHCR programme for refugees and internally displaced people in Sudan and Chad this year. International Canine Exhibition in Monaco

Under the patronage of HSH the Prince Sovereign, the International Canine Exhibition took place this weekend Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th April 2008 at the Espace Fontvieille from 9am until 6pm each day.

This year a special exhibition of Afghan Hounds and Greyhounds was opened on Saturday at 5pm. More than 170 breeds were on display and 15 countries participated in the event.

Organised as part of the International Canine Week (March events took place in Fréjus and Sanremo) by the Monaco Canine Society, presided over by Princess Antoinette, this event have bestowed awards for Best of Group and the Best in Show. In order to become a champion a dog must win four prizes.
